Government-issued photo ID for taxpayer (and spouse, if filing jointly)
Social Security cards or ITIN letters for everyone on the return
Prior year federal and state tax returns (last 2 years if new to us)
All W-2s, 1099s (NEC, MISC, INT, DIV, R, SSA, G), K-1s, and 1098 forms
Self-employment income and expense summary (or bookkeeping export)
Records of estimated tax payments made
Childcare provider name, address, EIN, and amount paid
Health insurance forms (1095-A / B / C) if applicable
Any IRS or state notices received (upload the full letter, both sides)
